Accommodation

The accommodation offers up to four berths in saloon and forepeak with 5' 10" headroom under the dog house.

Wooden double doors, sliding hatch and steps leading down from cockpit to cabin. Galley to starboard side comprising stainless steel sink with cold pumped water supply, Origo two burner spirit stove, top loading refrigerator and ample storage below and behind.

Settee berths to port and starboard sides, port converts to a double, with storage below and drop leaf table to centre.

Large heads compartment to port comprising stainless steel sink with cold pumped water supply and Simpson Lawrence SL400 sea toilet with diverter fitted.

Forepeak with single berth to starboard side and storage beneath. Escape hatch to foredeck.

Eberspacher diesel fired, warm air heating.

Mechanical Systems

Located beneath the cockpit sole, Vetus M2.06 two cylinder16hp naturally aspirated diesel inboard engine with less than 500 hours. Cooling via a Vetus water filter for the raw water inlet. Shaft drive to fixed pitch three blade propeller. Flex mounts. Single lever engine control. Electric start. Cruising speed approx. 5 knots. Maximum speed approx. 6.5 knots. Rope cutter.  Engine, stern gear, propeller, exhaust system and engine mounts all replaced in 2008. Propeller shaft lip seals replaced in June 2021

Construction

Built in 1947 by Wallasea Bay Yacht Co of Essex to a design by L Francis Herreshoff. 7/8" mahogany and Iroko planking fastened with bronze screws to oak timbers at 12" centres. Many timbers replaced during major refit between 1998-2008. Marine plywood deck sheathed in epoxy and painted on a tongue and groove sub deck. Marine plywood cockpit coamings with a sheathed coach roof deck. Long full-length external lead ballast keel attached through the oak floors and keel by bronze bolts. Tiller steering to aft end of keel and transom hung rudder.
